Faithful readers of Northwest Cycle Report will remember Brady Wright, aka Kickstart (article archive). A long-time rider and contributor to Northwest Cycle Report, Brady is embarking on a new adventure: building homes in Zambia with Habitat for Humanity.
Here’s a note from Brady about his trip:
As you may remember from November, I sent out a notice of my opportunity to make a difference by taking this trip and building houses for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to own one. I’m stepping up and traveling to Zambia in March and April, as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program. I’ll be working side-by-side with people who need a decent place to live, helping to build simple, affordable houses.
If you visit my Habitat Web page, you can learn the latest details about my trip:

Now that the preparations are nearly done, and the planning complete, we’re getting down to the last bit of fund-raising time. As you know, I’m raising money to support my team’s work, and I’d be grateful if you would consider making an online donation. Any amount is a great help, even $5. Habitat for Humanity is a charitable donation, and you’ll get a receipt for your taxes. You can even donate on line!
I want to thank all of those who have donated, so far, and urge those who have not to consider even a small amount. I appreciate whatever you can spare, even if it’s just good wishes for a safe trip.
Thanks for helping me build houses and hope in Zambia!
If you are so inclined, I encourage you to donate and support Brady’s efforts.

Hey, Kickstart here!
Just wanted to thank John for putting up the link and the story of this build. For those who may ot know, habitat for Humanity does these projects all over the world, including the US. I've done some benefits for them in year's past, but never had the time available to do an actual build.
The obvious question is: “Hey, there are lots of deserving folks right here in the US of A who need places to live. How come you're going all the way to Africa?” The answer is, timing and availability. The build that were scheduled for the time I had a open are there, so that's where I go. I'll get to take a few days after the actual build to do a camera safari and visit Victoria Falls, and I may see about the riding conditions there and report back on what I find.
It's going to be the trip of a lifetime, I know, and I sure am thankful to everyone here at NW Cycle News for your support and good wishes!
