Dakar Rally Going South
By John Davis • Feb 11th, 2008 • Category: Northwest Cycle News HeadlinesThe Associated Press is reporting that the 2009 Dakar Rally will take place in South America. After the cancellation of the 2008 event due to terrorist threats, organizers pledged that the rally would go on, and so it shall.
The 2009 event will start on January 3, 2009 in Buenos Aires and finish there on January 18. The exact route is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday.
