The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the review of an appeal by Michael McDermott of Dublin, CA. McDermott appealed a decision by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that granted the San Francisco Women’s Motorcycle Contingent exclusive rights to the name “Dykes on Bikes.” McDermott objected to the trademark application on the grounds that is was “scandalous and immoral.” The court rejected McDermott’s appeal without comment.
