WSP sets trap for dangerous motorcyclist

An elaborate trap has helped Washington State Troopers get a dangerous motorcycle rider off the streets.

“Everytime he gets on the freeway we get 911 calls alerting us to his erratic driving and speeding,” said Trooper Jeff Merrill.

For months, the State Patrol had their eye on the 40-year-old Bothell man. They have video evidence as far back as September of last year showing him weaving in and out of traffic at speeds over 100 miles per hour, barely missing cars along the way.

  1. Vonnegut, anyone? I watched the entire video, and at no time did I see this rider do anything overly dangerous. There is a presumption that going fast is inherently dangerous. Watch his closing speeds and distance: he never gets dangerously close to anyone, and keeps back until there is a safe opening to pass. This Harrison Bergeron is a very skilled rider, and he will be punished for having above average skills.
