Drunk Driver Gets 30 Months in Death of Motorcyclist

By John Davis • Jun 6th, 2007 • Category: Northwest Cycle News Headlines

A drunken motorist whose illegal U-turn near Chinook Pass killed a motorcyclist was sentenced Monday to 21/2 years in prison.

Scott Edwin Bradford, 40, of Puyallup, Wash., will also face three years of probation for his guilty plea to vehicular homicide in the death of Zacharey Cox of Redmond, Wash.

Cox, 30, was killed Aug. 6 when his high-performance Ducati motorcycle slammed into the side of Bradfords car on State Route 410, about 25 miles west of Naches.

Bradford, who was camping in the area, caused the crash by trying to pull a U-turn in a no-passing zone. Cox, who was returning from a Ducati Club run in Bend, Ore., died at the scene.
