Town Plans To Build World’s Biggest Motorcycle
By John Davis • Jan 27th, 2007 • Category: Northwest Cycle News HeadlinesThe race for the biggest Alberta roadside attraction has just gotten one cool contender.
Towns across the province already boast a host of the world’s “biggest,” including a hulking perogy, a towering kubasa and a massive Ukrainian Easter egg.
But the town of Fairview has a big idea that has nothing to do with food.
The town of about 31-hundred has kick-started a plan to build a motorcycle that’s up to four-storeys high.
It’s designed to draw attention to the motorcycle programs offered at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Fairview campus.
The school offers Canada’s only program to train Harley-Davidson mechanics, as well as certificate and apprenticeship programs for those who work on other makes.

You go, Fairview! I used to live in Grimshaw and bought my first motorcycle in Grande Prairie. Nice to hear some news from the Peace.
