A 19-year-old Edmonds woman was charged with a felony Friday after allegedly driving with alcohol and drugs in her system the morning she was involved in an accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Edmonds.
Mia Erica Gribble is scheduled to appear Oct. 12 in Snohomish County Superior Court.
The article further quotes Snohomish Presecutor Paul Stern as stating:
Tests taken several hours after the accident showed that Gribble had a blood-alcohol level of .06, an amount below the legal limit, Stern said. Further tests of the blood showed the presence of Ecstasy, Stern said, at amounts sufficient to affect her ability to drive.
My sources tell me that Ms. Gribble has reached an agreement with the Snohomish County Prosecutor to please guilty to hit and run (fatality) charges with an agreed sentencing recommendation at the high end of the range.

It is my understanding from the last conversation I had with Paul Stern that Mia would be sentenced to around 36 months and with good behavior released after only 20 months. That is a far cry from the upper end of the sentence as I read the statute. I will be interested in seeing how he defines “upper end of the sentencing range”.
