Electric Cycle Could Revolutionize Your Commute
Filed Under (Northwest Cycle News Headlines) by John Davis

From The Bellingham Herald:

The future is just around the corner, and its driving an orange bike.
Thats Bellingham resident Ken Trough on the bike – silent, packed with batteries and smoothly zipping down the sidewalk.

Is it a bike? Is it a man riding a battery? Is it a motorcycle?

Its the G2 – an innovative all electrically powered cycle being developed here. And it has the power to change the way we get around.

My name is Peter. I’m the founder of Evolve Motor Works, the entity that produced the G2 prototype that Ken Trough is Riding in the Behllingham Herald newspaper article. Ken was seleceted to continue the test phase of the G2 prototype, that EMW developed, because Bellingham was home to Zortch, Ken’s EV company. Ken had come to EMW after seeing the G2 at the NEDRA races in Las Vegas in January of 2004. He was immediately impressed with the G2’s potential so he was a natural for helping bring the G2 to the next level. Ken is a co-founder of the Society of Design Alchemy, aka SODA, an entity that is ivolved with repurposing technology to improve the quality of life and the biospere. This electric vehicle technology is amongst the first of a new generation of vehicles. It may well be the first of its’ generation since it employs a design principle where the frame is engineered for and around electric vehicle component; rather than having electric components clamped on to a conventional bicycle. The G2 was created with the human body in mind. The frame and suspension components of the bike mimic an animal. The G2 is so comfortable to ride that you could almost take a nap while riding it. It’s that comfortable. And it’s quiet. Other than the sound of the wheels on the road surface and the wind in your face; it’s whisper of sound as you go. Last time I checked, front-wheel-drive wasn’t a feature. The g2 is probably the first to employ that advancement in this type of vehicle. The proprietary rear suspension creates a margin of connection to the road surface that is so sure-footed it is uncanny. Test riders who specialize in finding the limits of a vehicle have consistently claimed that G2 pushed their envelope much farther than they had given it credit for being able to do. I digress. The SODA group is presently working on the next generation of vehicle. If you’re interested in starting a dialog about it, drop me a note and will be happy to share.
