Ride of the Week: Anacortes Animal Relief Fund Critter Run

The 100+ mile poker-run begins at 9 am at Anacortes Iron in Anacortes and includes stops at 8 establishements in Skagit and Whatcom Counties. The run finishes at The Brown Lantern Ale House in Anacortes. Ride sheets are $10/person. Last bike out at 11:00 am and last bike in at 3:00 pm. The top 3 poker hands will receive cash prizes.
According to Sharon Schlittenhard, AARF board member and Crttier Ride coordinator, proceeds from the event support animals in need in the Anacortes area. AARF support spaying and neutering, vaccinations and veterinary health care for animals of low-income families. AARF also provides pet food each month to two food banks in Anacartes for distribution to pets of low-income families. The organization is all volunteer and the Critter Ride is the main fundraiser. The event raises approximately $1,000 each year.
