If you are riding the Whidbey Island loop or just taking the long way to the Oyster Run, this little place is a great stop. It’s on the street side of Hiway 20, just after you make the turn north towards Deception Pass, in the middle of downtown Oak Harbor. You might miss it, cause it sits in a strip mall, but the sign is pretty big.
Once inside, the service was first class, and along with the usual chips and salsa, they do something that grabbed me right away. They bring a little container of extra salsa so you can refill your bowl right away, if you eat all the salsa before the meal gets there. Nice!
The menu has all the dishes you’d expect and a couple of neat specials. I had the “Jose Cuervo Flaming Fajitas”, and they lived up to their name. They flame the things right at the table and the spices and tequila really wake up the old taste buds!
My riding partner had the “Macho Burrito junior” and it needs a little explanation. I don’t know what the “Macho senior” might be like, but the junior came on a dinner platter and was enough food for two guys! In fact, both meals were pretty big, but they were also delicious.
Service is snappy, prices are good, and the access back to the road is easy. Good parking, and they are biker friendly for the whole family. If you ride past there, it’s worth a stop! I don’t know the translation of “El Cazador”, but in my book it means, “Darn good!”
