Officer Zsolt Dornay, a 12-year veteran police officer working in the West Precinct had finished his shift just after midnight. Apparently upset that Dornay was driving his personal motorcyle in Post Alley, a an unidentifiied woman pushed Dornay’s bike over, damaging it. Dornay attempted to restrain the woman, possibly to place her under arrest, when he was assaulted from behind by 4 to 6 men. The men knocked Dornay top the ground, kicking him in the head and face. Dornay was able to draw his service pistol and shoot one of the assailants.
Dornay is an instructor at the Northwest Motorcycle School and a former motorcycle instructor for the Washington State Criminal Training Commission. He is recovering at home after being treated for serious injuries to his head and face at Harborview Medical Center.

Oh my God. I’ve taken Zsolt’s fantastic class. He’s a really great guy and a terrific teacher. I’m so glad he wasn’t more seriously injured by these bastards.
Only shot one, huh? Too bad. World could do with less of those losers wasting our oxygen.
Sounds like he walked into a total set up to get robbed and his bike stolen. I hope Dornay will be perfectly OK and the predatory perpetrators get much more than they deserve.
