Malaysian carmaker Proton said on Tuesday it had offloaded its
loss-making Italian motorcycle unit just a year after it surprised
analysts by acquiring MV Augusta Motor.
The company said that it had sold its 57.57 per cent stake in the
European business to Italy’s GEVI Spa for a symbolic €1 and that the
buyer would assume the €107m in debt.
